HISTORY

This model church was said to have been given to the Russian Console General for his departure from the Russian Embassy in San Francisco prior to 1940. It was reportedly modeled after Fort Ross in Sonoma County, California.

Fort Ross, originally Fortress Ross, is a former Russian establishment on the west coast of North America in what is now Sonoma County, California. It was the hub of the southernmost Russian settlements in North America from 1812 to 1842.
