19th c. Monumental American Carpenter's Workbench with Two Drawers c.1850-1890

$3,595

ABOUT

A large, 19th century carpenter's workbench with two pull out drawers and long bottom shelf. Constructed with two wide solid Maple planks on top, mortise and tenon joints and dovetail joinery. Each leg is pegged and can be broken down by popping the pegs out. The bench features a steel screw vise that works properly and extends out. There are 14 "dogs" spaced along the front. Pegs were placed in the dogs to hold a piece into place while working on it. The piece is structurally sound and has retained the naturally distressed look of an industrial piece of this kind.
