An original LC Smith & Corona Typewriter #8 with a 12 inch carriage and an closed-frame design. The serial number is stamped in the inside. The keys are brass with black face and white numbers. Four rows of keys with a top row of decimals. All the keys work properly. The ribbon is still good. The carriage slides smoothly from side to side.

The L.C. Smith & Bros. Typewriter Company was founded in Syracuse, N.Y. on January, 1st, 1903. L.C. Smith & Bros. merged with Corona Typewriter Company in 1925 to become "L.C. Smith Bros. & Corona Typewriters, Inc." headquartered in Syracuse, N.Y.
