Shawdowboxed East German Automobile Scroll c.1950
ABOUT
This is an original framed automobile scroll of an East German car called the Wartburg 353. The scroll shows a schematic of the basic design of the car. The distressed scroll is stretched between wooden black dowels and shadowboxed in a matte black frame with white backing. The scroll has retained its original finish and has the appropriate wear consistent with age and use.

HISTORY
The Wartburg 353, known in some export markets as the Wartburg Knight, is a medium-sized family car, produced by the East German car manufacturer AWE for their Wartburg brand. The Wartburg 353 was the creation of the former German BMW production facilities (called EMW under Soviet occupation).
