An antique Woodstock typewriter with a 16 inch carriage. Original decals on the front and back. The keys are nickel with black with white numbers. Four rows of keys. The carriage slides smoothly from side to side. All the keys strike properly.

  • MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Steel, Metal, Nickel.
  • CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. The ribbon is light and will eventually need to changing. (Ribbon can be found on Amazon.) The space bar has a crack but is structurally sound.
  • DIMENSIONS H 9 in. W 16 in. D 15.5 in.

HISTORY

Sears, Roebuck, & Company opened their typewriting company as the Roebuck Typewriter Company in Woodstock, Illinois, but soon sold their concern to the Woodstock Typewriter Company in 1914. The Woodstock Typewriter Company operated until 1950, when it was bought by R.C. Allen Business Machines.
