This is an original heavy bronze flag stand with an American flag. This piece was designed for a large boat or military ship to stay stationary on a desk while at sea. The bronze stand has a round, graduated step base with green velvet. The bronze pole has a large conical tip and bracket with string. There is a slight bend in the pole visible from one side only. This bronze has retained its original finish with the appropriate patina for the age and use. The flag has 50 stars and is intact with some fading.
