An original handmade, custom replica of the Spray, the iconic 36-foot ship that Captain Joshua Slocum famously sailed single-handedly around the world between 1895 and 1898. This weathered folk-art ship served as a prominent piece of exterior decor for the Josh Slocum restaurant in Newport Beach, California. It was mounted outside to signal the establishment's deep ties to local yachting and maritime history.

HISTORY
Josh Slocum’s operated in Newport Beach for roughly four decades, opening in the mid-to-late 1960s and officially closing in 2005. The restaurant's history spans two distinctly different eras:
- The Family Restaurant Era (Late 1960s – Late 1990s): It was originally opened by the Minney family as a beloved, casual neighborhood seafood house and yachting hub.
- The Dennis Rodman Era (Late 1990s – 2005): Former NBA star Dennis Rodman took over the lease in the late '90s. He famously overhauled the venue into a wild, neon-lit nightclub that faced continuous city crackdowns until a fire and legal troubles forced its permanent closure in 2005
