French Military Galilean Binoculars by Gieure c.1880

This is an original pair of French military Galilean binoculars manufactured by Gieure in France. They are marked on each eyepiece with "Gieure Paris". The objective lenses are 45mm in diameter and their optics are good. The frame is a black coated metal and marked with "Militare", serial number "4172,5", and a telemeter. The barrels are covered with black leather. The black metal focus wheel works well. The binoculars have no leather strap, but there is a carrying case in fair condition with appropriate patina for its age.
