This is an original oil portrait on canvas of a prominent Santa Rosa lawyer, California USA 1904. The careful balance of lighting and mood creates a stately and wise portrait. The subject's eyes give a sense that he is very accomplished and intelligent, however he has retained a hint of humility. The artwork is in a stable condition. There has been minor repair work performed on the back side of the portrait to a tear approx 2" in length. It has been stretched over a frame and the piece is unframed.
