$2,195 $2,595

ABOUT

An antique portable saddle maker's wooden tool chest. The wooden chest has two leather handles and solid brass locks. When opened two hinged panels open to reveal multiple tools. The left side has 10 rows of 170 pattern making steel stamps. The stamps are on a removable leather piece held on by brass snaps.

The right side has multiple tools including hammers, planer, hole punchers, a built in clock, a wood and steel pocket knife and two saws made of carved wood, steel and bronze. Some tools are made of wood and bronze. A hinged lower drawer pulls out and houses more steel tools and a bronze and wood level. A second drawer is on the bottom. The tools are held onto the panels by metal, leather pouches or bronze clasps.

The mounted clock is a "rim wind/rim set" and appears to tick by pulling the face out to set and then wind the face but unsure if it works. A reversed stamped penny with the Free Masons symbol and stamped 1945. The stamp is framed in bronze and an outer steel frame. Pictures added later.
