HISTORY
Coit Tower was completed in 1933, funded by a bequest from eccentric socialite Lillie Hitchcock Coit to "add to the beauty" of San Francisco. Designed by Arthur Brown, Jr. in the Art Deco style, its interior features 1934 WPA-era frescoes depicting Depression-era California.
