Blair Tourograph Co. was originally established in Connecticut in 1878 by Thomas Henry Blair. In 1881 Blair moved to Boston and created his own manufacturing process, though the president of the company at that time was Darius Goff, the financial sponsor. The company became known as Blair Tourograph & Dry Plate Co and in 1886 simply as Blair Camera Company.
