HISTORY
Founded in 1900 as a tobacco machinery manufacturer, American Machine and Foundry (AMF) later transformed into an eclectic leisure and manufacturing conglomerate. It is best known for inventing the automatic pin spotter, which revolutionized the bowling industry, and for famously owning Harley-Davidson in the 1970s.
