A solid oak World War II-era medical field chair stamped with military property markings form the United States Medical Department "USMD" and "March 4, 1944". Built for military use, the company constructed the chair to rigid government specifications for the USMD, integrating heavy-duty, steel tension/tie-rods on four sides of the base and through the back to structurally bind the frame.
