Antique Underwood Standard Portable Typewriter c.1919



An antique 3 bank "Underwood Standard Portable Typewriter" with original case. The keys are nickle with white interior and black letters. This typewriter has smooth typing, the carriage advances and functions very well. The ribbon does need to be changed. The leather case is original and has some wear but structurally sound.

The Underwood Typewriter Company was a manufacturer of typewriters headquartered in New York City. Underwood produced what is considered the first widely successful, modern typewriter. By 1939, Underwood had produced five million machines.
