Antique Remington Portable Model No. 1 Typewriter and Case c.1920
ABOUT
An original Remington Portable No. 1 typewriter with pop up keys and leather case. This typewriter features strikers that fold flat into the body and rise by turning a knob. The keys are nickle with black letters on a yellow background. It has smooth typing and the carriage advances and functions very well. The case is original and has some wear on the leather handle but is structurally sound. Serial number: NV45612.

HISTORY
E. Remington and Sons (1816–1896) was a manufacturer of firearms and typewriters. Founded in 1816 but on March 1, 1873, it became known for manufacturing the first commercial typewriter.
