Antique Remington Envoy Portable Typewriter c.1942
ABOUT
An antique Remington Envoy typewriter in black crinkle finish with original leather case. The keys are white letters on a black background. This typewriter is very clean and has new ribbon installed. It has smooth typing and the carriage advances and functions very well. The case is original and has some wear on the leather handle but is structurally sound. Serial number S1224214.

HISTORY
E. Remington and Sons (1816–1896) was a manufacturer of firearms and typewriters. Founded in 1816 but on March 1, 1873, it became known for manufacturing the first commercial typewriter.
The black crinkle finish which was originally designed to reduce glare for the secretaries that were using it at the time.
