Antique A. Lietz Co. Maple Wood and Cast Iron Drafting Table c.1940-1947
ABOUT
A fully adjustable industrial drafting table with Maple wood top and cast iron base and knobs. Cast iron bases have the maker's mark on both sides. Two original metal labels on base and top. The table can be used as a tall dining table, desk or drafting table. The top swivels at any angle and from either side. The whole table can be lowered or raised to the height you chose.

MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Cast Iron, Steel, Maple Top, Oak Base.
- CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor wear on the top. Two chips on the edge. Two dents in the center. Wear on the corners. Minor scratches throughout. Very stable.
- DIMENSIONS Max Table Height 32.75-43 in. W 60 in. D 36 in., Top: 1.25 in thick.
HISTORY
Adolph Lietz was born in Leubeck, Germany in 1860. He immigrated to San Francisco in 1879 and worked in several scientific instrument shops before opening his own business. The firm incorporated in 1892 under the name "The A. Lietz Company". In 1910 a complete line of drafting materials and engineering equipment was added. They ceased operations in 1947.
