An Art Deco portable Underwood Champion typewriter in high gloss black finish and chrome. Bakelite and nickel keys with black and white lettering. Original Underwood lettering. This typewriter is very clean and in good working order. It has smooth typing and the carriage advances and functions very well. Keys do not stick. Serial #G1009247. Original leather wrapped case with Bakelite handle.

HISTORY

E. Remington and Sons (1816–1896) was a manufacturer of firearms and typewriters. Founded in 1816 but on March 1, 1873, it became known for manufacturing the first commercial typewriter.
