Solid Wood Pocket Cruiser Skateboard c.1976

$550

ABOUT

An authentic 1970s "Pocket Cruiser"/Freestyle skateboard with original Power Paw wheels in the highly desirable translucent ruby red colorway. The raised lettering is intact. Solid hardwood deck with a rich, reddish tone featuring the classic dual full-length grip tape "slip guards" to showcase the high-quality wood grain beneath.

Fitted with period-correct solid wooden riser/spacer platforms. Before companies started using cheap injected plastics or rubber for risers, high-end manufacturers and skaters cut blocks of dense hardwood (like oak, ash, or mahogany) to sandwich between the trucks and the board. An original vintage United States Navy sticker adds a period-correct military Americana character and unique history to the build. The maker's mark might possibly exist underneath.
