HISTORY
William Hutton and Sons was a prominent English silver smithing firm founded in Sheffield in 1800 by William Hutton. Known for producing both sterling silver and high quality silver plate, the company gained a strong reputation throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries. As the business expanded, it opened a London showroom and absorbed other makers, allowing it to offer a wide range of domestic and decorative wares. Their hallmarks are well recognized by collectors today. The firm continued until 1930, when it was absorbed by James Dixon & Sons, leaving behind a legacy of practical and attractive silver still appreciated by buyers today.
