ABOUT
An antique Bausch & Lomb magic lantern slide projector with original metal carrying case. This industrial-era machine features a striking, dark-enameled metal body with a curved lamphouse ventilation hood, adjustable accordion-style leather extension bellows, and a heavy, ornate cast-iron pedestal base with manual elevation gear adjusting screws. It retains its premium original brass-barrel projection lens stamped clearly with the Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. branding, alongside its wooden sliding dual-slide carrier mechanism. Original metal label on the side with manufacturing date of Feb. 21st, 1911.

HISTORY
In the mid 19th century, inventors introduced photographic lantern slides in 1849. These transparent glass plates featured hand-painted or photographic images that were projected onto walls or screens using an early type of image projector called a magic lantern.
