Late 19th c. Cast Iron Wheel Book Press c.1890

ABOUT
A 19th-century Victorian cast iron wheel book press. Historically utilized in print shops, law offices, and bookbinderies as a copying or nipping press. Cast from solid, heavy iron, the press features its dark weathered patina with original, faded decorations on the front, sides and back. The classic top-mounted wheel turning handle rotates smoothly, driving the central threaded screw assembly to effortlessly raise and lower the thick iron pressure plate.
