The is an antique metal and Bakelite figuring (adding) machine by R.C. Allen, model 95. The body is Bakelite, metal, and wood on the handle. The lever pulls forward and back working the inner mechanisms but doesn't print on the paper. A glass display shows the numbers and changes when the lever is pulled. The lever is very tight. The black, white and red push button numbers are Bakelite, the first plastic produced. R.C. Allen Inc. was founded by Ralph C. Allen (1884-1967) in 1932, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Later, it became known as R.C. Allen Business Machines Inc. and was one of the leading manufacturers of business machines.
