This is an original Mid-century Luxo L-1 task lamp. The shade and body are lacquered steel with a large articulating arm that extends to 45". Original label is inside the shade. This piece has retained its original finish and has the appropriate patina for the age and use. Minor blemishes denoted in pictures. The cord is in good working order.

HISTORY
In 1937, Jac Jacobsen, the founder of Luxo, invented the Luxo L-1 lamp which was the inspiration for the 1986 animated short film, "Luxo Jr." by Pixar Studios. The short subsequently became the subject of a lawsuit from Luxo.
