ABOUT

Model C1700 patio dining chairs in patinated bronze, designed by Walter Lamb and produced by Brown Jordan. The chairs have a tubular frame supported by a bent bronze runner, terminating in a decorative curl just below the seat. The frames were re-roped with cotton yacht sail cord in 2017 but never used. They have been stored for 4 years and the cord in in like new condition.

  • MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Patinated Bronze, Cotton Cord.
  • CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Re-roped in 2017 but stored and never used outside. Rope is like new. Very slight difference in the back height of one chair and the rope on the backrest doesn't go down as far. Otherwise the same.
  • DIMENSIONS H 32.75 in. W 18.5 in. D 22 in. Seat Height 18 in.

HISTORY

Designer Walter Lamb was experimenting with bronze and copper tubing salvaged from sunken naval ships at Pearl Harbor in the 1940s when he created the prototype for his iconic outdoor collection.
