This is an original 1950s Eames fiberglass shell chair with original model sticker in Parchment. This iconic chair is mounted on a newer Herman Miller Walnut dowel base. Replacements of the bases are common. Image #6 and #7 are of the second chair.
We have a total of 9 shell chairs with the original fiberglass color of Parchment. Seafoam Green, Tan and Brown was introduced next. All chairs are stamped "Herman Miller". Available upon requests.

HISTORY
The Eames Fiberglass Side Chair was introduced in 1951, a year after the original "shell" chair with arms was offered for sale. The back and seat of these chairs are made of a single piece of molded fiberglass contoured to the shape of the human body.
