HISTORY

The study of anatomy began at least as early as 1600BC in Egypt. The earliest examinations were sacrificial victims, a far cry from the sophisticated analyses of the body performed by modern scientists today.

Medical educators rely on 3D models to depict anatomical structures in a more efficient format than the cadaver; to move away from the clutter, discomfort, and complexity of a cadaveric dissection; and to clarify characteristics or functions of an anatomical structure that are not readily apparent in situ.
