Vintage Revere Industrial Spotlight c.1940

ABOUT

A vintage, heavy-duty industrial floodlight manufactured by the Revere Electric Mfg. Company of Chicago. The Revere Model 5750 series was a staple of mid-century industrial lighting. This model gained prominence in the late 1940s and 1950s as a high-wattage floodlight. The heavy-duty "U" bracket (yoke) allowed for precise aiming, which was critical for its original use in stadiums, parking lots, and industrial rail yards. Revere units from this era typically feature a distinct metal nameplate with the Chicago address.

HISTORY

Revere Electric was a major innovator in outdoor and sports lighting during this time. In 1941, they split off their service station lighting division, focusing more heavily on industrial and athletic field floodlights like the 5700 series throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
