Step back into the early automotive and maritime luxury with this piece of industrial history. Originally engineered as an ultra-powerful acetylene gas lamp, these premium spotlights were the gold standard for high-end motor cars such as early Locomobiles, Packards and naval vessels. Rewired as a lamp, it features a heavy copper-brass body that has developed an incredible patina over the last century.
Original manufacturer plate that reads: "The Rushmore Lens Mirror Searchlight, Manf'd By Rushmore Dynamo Works, Plainfield, N.J., U.S.A." It retains its rugged top bailing handle, allowing the housing to pivot freely for manual aiming. With the threaded base, it can easily be mounted on a tripod to create a floorlamp.
