ABOUT

This is a solid Oak and fabric swivel desk chair with steel mechanisms.  The back rest reclines and the tension can be adjusted. The height of the back rest can be raised or lowered. The vinyl back rest moves independently from the back rest. The maker's logo is on the back right.

The chair rolls easily on the casters and is comfortable. This piece has retained its original finish with minor structural damage. The wood is intact with no cracks.

HISTORY

The W.H. Gunlocke Chair Company was founded in 1902 by William H. Gunlocke and four other furnitureexperts in Wayland, New York. Inititally, the companywas designed to manufacture seats for houses, lounges and libraries, but later expanded to include seating for offices as well.
