French Resin Harvesting Pots c.1910
These are original French resin harvesting pots from the turn of the century. The handmade red terracotta pots are heavily encrusted with dried pine resin have a fantastic patina and smell. They are in good condition, some have chips to the rim or cracks which give each piece its unique charm.

Resin pots were patented by Pierres Hughes for collecting pine resin. Resiniers would cut the tree and fix the pot to the tree to allow the resin to flow in. The pots were like a flower pot but without the hole in the bottom and usually have a slightly flatter side.
