HISTORY

Linder was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He relocated to Los Angeles after high school where he attended Santa Monica College receiving his AA. He received a scholarship to finish his BFA at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1990. In 1997 he received his MFA from UC Berkeley in 1997.

After graduation, he opened Refusalon, an alternative art space in his home. Some of the artists shown included Gay Outlaw, David Nash and Bill Daniels among many others. Refusalon closed in 1999. In early 2000, he started LINCART, with business partner Alexandra Holly Fouladi. Lincart was featured on the KQED television show, SPARK, in 2004.
