This is a depression era Royal Junior typewriter in the original case with leather handle. The advertising and marketing in the 1930s for this model stated "Designed for children, housewives and letter writers."

The keys are nickle and glass with black and greenish-yellow letters. This typewriter has smooth typing, the carriage and space bar function well and the ribbon is still fairly new. It has retained its original finish with minor blemishes..

HISTORY

The Royal Typewriter Company was founded by Edward B. Hess and Lewis C. Myers in January 1904 in a machine shop in Brooklyn, New York.
