Antique Corona Flip Top Portable Typewriter c.1917
This is an original Corona 3 Flip Top Typewriter. The top flips over and converts to a portable square. This typewriter has been completely refurbished and is in good working order. A patent date of "July 10, 1917" is on the back. This piece has retained its original finish and has the appropriate patina for the age and use.

Considered the first "laptop", the Corona 3 Portable Typewriter was invented in 1912. Ernest Hemingway loved his, so did Teddy Roosevelt. It was the most popular model of typewriter ever made—selling over 700,000 in 30 years. The Corona Typewriter Company of Groton, New York marketed the Corona III as “the personal writing machine.”
