This is an original metal clad wooden toolbox "The Boelter Case" made by Boelter Paper and Supply Co Chicago, USA. The metal brackets are marked on all sides with the company's logo. There is some rust coming through its original finish and the wooden interior has some wear & tear, as to be expected for an industrial object. The box's leather handle has worn down to the metal strip and its latch is no longer lockable.

HISTORY

Boelter Paper and Supply Co launched in 1929 with Fred W. Boelter leading the way. At the time, he specialized in providing bar and janitorial supplies for taverns and rooming houses in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Today the scope of the Boelter business includes not only foodservice and janitorial supplies, but contract commercial and institutional foodservice equipment and food facility design.
